ARRIVAL
This year, the Bun Run is being held in Rock Hall, MD. The start/finish line will be located in the grassy lot on Main Street next to the retail area known as “Rock Hall Village,” which is near the intersection of Main Street and Route 20 at the “blinking” traffic light.
Ample parking will be available behind Rock Hall Village (entrance on Liberty Street). If the spots are full, you can park at the Rock Hall Public Library, which is closed on Saturdays, or behind The Flying Decoy restaurant, which opens at 12 noon. PLEASE DO NOT PARK AT THE GROCERY STORE. We will also ask the town to temporarily restrict parking on the south side of Route 20 (Rock Hall Ave), which is the final stretch for the 5K. You can park on the north side of Route 20.
We recommend you arrive by no later than 9:30am to make sure you are ready for our 10am start. If you begin your run after the official 10am start, you will be responsible for keeping your own time.
CHECKING IN
When you arrive, go to the Rock Hall Village Gazebo to sign-in. The check-in table will open at 9am. At the Gazebo you will receive your wristband with your bib number and your Bun Run tote bag. If you purchased a Bun Run t-shirt at registration, you will receive it at check-in. T-shirts will also be for sale (limited sizes). The Gazebo will also have information tables for the event and the Eastern Shore Rabbit Rescue and Education Center (ESRREC) Outreach Building is nearby. Tickets for several raffle baskets benefiting ESRREC will be sold at the Gazebo as well.
ROUTE SAFETY
Signage along the Bun Run route will help keep you on track. Volunteers will be stationed at several points along the route for guidance and encouragement. They will also have supplies for minor injuries, but for any major injuries or medical emergencies call 9-1-1.
REPORTING YOUR RESULTS
The top finishers in each category for the in-person event will receive a medal. All participants who report their results (run or walk) will be entered into our prize drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card. When you have completed your Bun Run, please report your time to the volunteer who is stationed either at the finish line or at the Pavilion. The prize drawing will take place on May 1st after virtual race results have also been gathered.
ACTIVITIES IN ROCK HALL
After Bun Run, we encourage you to enjoy shopping on Main Street, or visit one of the many Rock Hall dining establishments including on the waterfront. We will also be within easy reach of Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge.
